Principal

Dear Muscoy Families,

My name is Dr. Dana Jamison, and I am privileged to continue as the principal of Muscoy Elementary. This is my eighth year as principal and ten years total at Muscoy Elementary, Our goal at Muscoy Elementary is to foster each child's sense of well-being in a safe, caring, and welcoming environment in a bilingual setting. We believe in building positive relationships with our students, parents, and community. 

Our students participate in daily social emotional and PBiS social skills' lessons to help them learn life-long social competencies. We encourage positive choices by rewarding students with Mustang Motivators (M&M's) to purchase prizes in our student store!

We focus on developing AVID skills in our second through sixth grade. These skills such as note-taking and organization of binders and daily agendas will prepare our students for college readiness and success in a global society. We have a Dual Immersion Program that prepares our students to be bilingual, biliterate and bicultural in both Spanish and English. Currently, we have over half of our staff that are certified as Gifted and Talented (GATE) Education teachers that are highly trained with specialized instructional strategies to meet the needs of students who have been identified as gifted and talented. 

Our staff consistently participate in professional learning communities that focus on the most current research-based strategies and instructional practices to focus on increasing student academic achievement in all subject areas,  as well as, their emotional well-being. 

We welcome parents to our school and our vision as a staff is to build a bridge between school and our community.  We provide exciting family-oriented events. We invite all of our parents and guardians to join us for our fall festival, performances, family picnics, holiday parades, award ceremonies, and more. We have a parent organization (PTO) that helps to facilitate these exciting events. Our school encourages you to join our PTO!

We are excited to get to know all of you and look forward to working alongside all of families to create a wonderful learning environment where our students have self-confidence, perseverance to overcome challenges, and have a sense of belonging within our Muscoy community!
